This was one of the first songs written for the new band, new album, new sound. Built on a bluesy, swampy guitar riff, Brokedown train was originally an acoustic song which slowly morphed into an electric boogie session with the help of Miros' pension for rhythm based drumming, Degs' groovy harps, Brooks-I's dynamic bass lines, and lyrics by Haas.
